Choose a nutritional diet that’s right for you

The Keto Diet and Nutrition Health Report

-BEGIN PART 2–

In part 1 of this keto diet and health report we briefly covered some things about our diet and nutrition that we should be concerned about and the importance of knowing your body well enough to provide your body with the important nutrients and proper nutritional value it needs to obtain and maintain a healthier happier life and you can do this by allowing your body to have the very best nutritional diet you will love and the diet that’s right for you, but how does the Keto Diet fit in ? continue reading this report to find out.

Also in part one I provide an example of someone who made a bad food choice, and decided to try a spicy food dish that caused some discomfort and possible health issues.

In that example I gave you 2 choices about your diet that could affect your health by providing you with 2 options… You could either chose option A. To listen to your body… Or option B. To ignore your body.

I also explained how you could use the process of elimination approach for deciding your best diet.

I will briefly continue using that 2-choice option example here in part 2.

So, if you have not already done so, then read part one so you do not miss the point, or feel lost.

As I mentioned in part one and will continue to emphasize…

The final decision about what diet is best for you… is and should be your decision based on the facts, not the hype.

The better you know and understand your body and its tolerance for different foods… the closer you will be at improving your health and improving the way you feel.

The more research you do and the more information you find, the better choices you will make about your diet and your health and based on what you learn you can decide for yourself if the Keto Diet is the right nutritional diet for you.

If you continue reading to the end, I will provide you with some websites and articles to help you decide.

I will emphasize the same point here again in part 2…

There is a wealth of information that you can use to help you decide what kind of food or diet is best for you, if you take the time to find it and by reading the articles on this site you can save some time searching for some of that information.

Some of the information mentioned in this report might be helpful if you are trying to decide whether the keto diet is the right choice for you…

However, try to make your decision based on your own research and personal experience along with your doctor’s recommendation.

Above all else try to listen to your body, and what your body might be telling you about the foods that you eat.

Notice what one health care provider had to say on this subject. This quote is taken from a NORTHWESTERN MEDICINE article with the title: Pros and Cons Of The Keto Diet …

“When you micromanage your food intake by tracking how much you eat, it disconnects you from what your body is asking for,” says Gomez. “You start using outside numbers to determine what to eat instead of listening to your body.”

This a quote from a dietitian named Richelle Gomez, MS, RDN, LDN, from Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital found at: https://www.nm.org/healthbeat/healthy-tips/nutrition/pros-and-cons-of-ketogenic-diet

The quote from that article about the pros and cons of the keto diet addresses one of the problems of trying to manage a scripted diet like the keto diet, as opposed to just listening to your body and following what your body is telling you about the foods that you are eating.

So, whether it is an individual food choice or your choice of diets, It is still your choice, not mine, not someone else but yours…

If you ever have a similar food problem like the one described in the exotic food example from part 1. If you ever have that kind of problem with your health after choosing any food or diet plan, what should you do?

How would you handle that exotic food problem described in part 1? … What would you choose to do if you were having that same problem? …

The problem of choosing and eating the wrong food… and then feeling poorly afterwards.

In part 1, I described option A and option B… and what those 2 choices that I gave you meant.

Option A was the choice of listening to your body, and Option B was the choice to ignore your body.

If you still find it difficult to decide which option, you will choose whether it is the A or the B option…

Or just have not decided yet what you would do in that situation  then… I don’t want to influence your choice but…

alphabet word images 1300502 640
Are you listening to your body?

Just remember that it is always better to get an A as your grade on any test or exam rather than a B…

That is of course if you could pick your grade for a test… then absolutely A is always the best choice.

If you could pick your grade, what would you choose? Would you rather get an A or B? …

For most people this is not a difficult choice, the answer to that question seems obvious. Most people usually will not take a test just to get a lower test score…

So, the logical answer to that question should be that you would choose to get an A on your test and not a B… just like choosing option, A in that food example from part 1 and listening to what your body is telling you about the foods you eat is a good choice…

Yes, choosing to listen to your body if you ever have a similar food problem like the one described in part 1 is not only a good choice, but probably the best nutritional diet choice you could make to avoid more serious problems that can come from choosing the wrong foods.

Choosing option, A from that food example mentioned in part 1 also seems like the logical answer to solve not just that type of food problem, but any food problem you might have, that’s why choosing option A and listening to your body is also a wise choice to make for your overall health as well.

Although choosing option A to resolve that exotic food problem found in part 1 seems like the obvious choice, it might not be such an obvious choice or solution in real life…

Notice what one dietician had to say in an article with the title:

11 Warning Signs You Have A Sneaky Food Intolerance

Found at https://www.dietvsdisease.org/11-warning-signs-you-have-a-food-intolerance/

“Food intolerance (also known as food sensitivity) is much more common than you think. Up to 10% of people experience it to some degree, yet most don’t do anything about it”.

“Not to be confused with food allergy (which involves the immune system), a food intolerance reaction occurs when an individual’s threshold to certain food compounds or chemicals is exceeded. Symptoms can occur hours – even days – after eating the offending food”.

The above quote and the following article is…

Found at: Diet vs Disease.org – Written BY JOE LEECH, DIETITIAN (MSC NUTRITION & DIETETICS)

https://www.dietvsdisease.org/11-warning-signs-you-have-a-food-intolerance/

But suppose you did choose option A in that example from part 1…

Then that means that you chose the best option for that practical food test, yes you have chosen the best grade that you could get for that example food test from part 1.

You made the right choice…

However, that practical food choice test is easy, because it’s not a real test… What about real life?

It’s hard to imagine that anyone who has a food intolerance or allergy wouldn’t try to do anything about it or would ignore it. like someone with a peanut allergy not trying to avoid eating peanuts and it doesn’t have to be a severe food allergy, it could be something less severe that could lead to something more severe if ignored.

Can anyone say for sure that some similar food problem like the one described in that food example cited in part 1 will not actually happen to them in real life… and never will happen?

Yes a food problem similar to the exotic food example in part 1 where you try some dish that you have never had before and start to experience some discomfort or pain… and now you must decide what to do next.

b81f57cba24b684025069f90e845f7031676529779 cropped 1676530897 optimized

How would you handle that problem if you only had 2 choices? Would you choose option A and decide to listen to what your body might be warning you about the spicy dish that did not go down so well and is causing you some discomfort, and avoid eating that food again? Or…

Would you choose to ignore your bodies warning signal and decide to try that spicy dish again because it was sooo good!

What if something like that spicy food example has already happened to you? …

Hopefully you never have and might not ever have to deal with that kind of problem, but..

Does anyone really know for sure that they will never have some minor wrong food, or wrong diet choice escalate into something more severe and challenge them to make a real-life food and diet choice on the foods that they are eating…

A wrong food choice that will make them closely examine what they are eating… and then force them to make a real-life food choice decision about whether or not their real-life diet is the best diet for their health.

If you absolutely love your diet or the foods you eat, then the decision to end your diet if your diet is causing you problems could be a hard choice to make and so the temptation to ignore your body’s warning signal and do nothing about the potential health problem your diet could be causing you would be very easy.

We know that in the real world you cannot just pick or choose your grade on a test. In the real world if you want a legitimate A on your test then you must work for it and earn it.

However, in that food test example described in part 1…

You can pick or choose what you would do if that same food problem were a real-life problem for you, and you don’t have to worry about any real-life pressure to make a difficult decision when you take that sample test…

A difficult decision that could result in real life consequences for making the wrong choice, because it’s only a sample test and not a real life test.

In other words, there is no real pressure with any serious consequences in taking that example test so…

You can choose option A or B from the example in part 1, without any pressure at all to make the right decision.

No worries , so why not decide what you would do in that same situation in real life and then…

Give yourself a personal grade based on how you think your choice would affect your life in a positive way… After all we don’t want to choose something that will affect us negatively do we ? So let’s just think about the positive affect our choice will have on our life.

Smiling sun
I love my diet it helps me feel good !

How do you think choosing option A would affect your life in a positive way? if that is the option you choose, and if you choose option B then I would like to know…

Is there really a positive outcome from choosing option B?… and if there is a positive outcome, then what exactly is it?

thinker 28741 640
Umm!? Good question

Can you really give yourself a good grade and a pat on the back for choosing that option? Choosing option B and choosing to ignore your body… Just asking, you don’t have to answer if you don’t want to.

Why not go for the high score? And give yourself an A for proper diet and nutrition.

That article and quote above Found at: Diet vs Disease.org  only reinforces the need to do a thorough research on any diet or food you decide to try, and so… If you chose option A then you scored well on that practical food test example because…

You made the choice to listen to your body and avoid any harmful food that could cause you more severe problems down the road…That is just as good of a choice as choosing to get an A on any written test or exam in my opinion…

Why?

Because by choosing option A in that food example and choosing to listen to your body, so that you can take good care of it, you have made the right choice and decided to eat only the very best food and put together a nutritional diet that will take you down the road to better health.

By making that choice, you have also just scored an A on one of the most important tests you could take, and that test is…

The Healthy Body Test, and I am sure that your healthy body would thank you for making that important choice in real life, by helping you feel better, and by helping you to continue improving your overall health.

On the other hand…

If you chose option B, then you might have to take summer school classes:).

Besides the long-term consequences of choosing option B could be severe and therefore choosing to ignore your body and ignore the warning signs that your body is trying to give you could be detrimental to your health.

You are also choosing to lower and possibly lose your chances of scoring a better healthier happier life right now.

Making that choice to ignore your body could be much more difficult to live with than just choosing to give up some favorite food or habit that you love that could be causing you harm and affecting your health.

Choosing option, A is a much better choice in my opinion, even if it means giving up that exotic food dish or giving up a certain diet especially if that diet is just not working for you or is causing you problems.

If you chose option A from that example in part 1, then you probably understand that it is especially important to avoid harming yourself by ignoring your body’s negative reaction to the wrong foods.

Choosing option A, means you have decided to listen to your body so that you will be as healthy as you can be, and if that is what you have decided then…

I certainly agree with your choice, because I believe that it is especially important to try and pay close attention to your body, and heed any warning signs that your body might be trying to give you about the foods that you are eating…

So yes, by all means listen to your body and give yourself the highest score for that food test. Give yourself an A on the healthy body test.

Okay so what exactly does all this rambling on about exotic food, dump trucks and choosing A or B, that I covered in part 1 have to do with the keto diet?

Maybe it is just a little distraction to prepare you for the more serious information that is coming up.

Or it could be just some helpful supplemental information that might inspire you to take better care of yourself…

You decide what all that rambling was about… continue reading and decide for yourself if it was helpful or not.

There is however some important information about the keto diet coming up that fits in with some of this additional content.

You can continue reading to find out how the Keto Diet may or may not be the right diet for you. (Just a little hint) …

According to some of the information that I have found, the keto diet might not be right for everyone… But who and why?

Continue reading to find out who this diet might not be the right diet for and why.

There is however still a little more of this rambling along with a few poor attempts at humor mixed in together with the more important serious stuff coming up, just thought I would warn you.

But there is much more of the helpful and useful information then there is of the rambling and poor attempts at humor coming up next …

So, hold your nose, dive in and try to focus on the helpful useful information, and try to pay as little attention as possible to the rest.

Now back to that principal of listening to your body…

Hopefully, you can see that the principal of listening to your body can apply to any food that you consume and also to any diet that you are on.

If you are trying to decide whether the Keto diet is right for you… I have said this in part 1 and I will continue to repeat it…

That should be something you decide based on your own personal experience and your doctors’ recommendations…

Do your own research, take an active role in your personal health!

There are other healthy food and diet alternatives that might be right for you if your current plan is not working or even if you just want to find out what diet plan is best for you.

I will be covering this subject in more detail later, and I am always looking for the best diets, the best food plans and health options for my readers, but in the meantime…

There are so many various websites and plenty of useful information on food and diets that you can find online if you keep searching.

The keto diet and nutrition health report -begin part 2 11

Just try to make sure that any health site that you find to help you with any medical problem or condition, is credible, and the information is backed by research and science.

In that same article, The Pros And Cons Of The Ketogenic Diet from NORTHWESTERN MEDICINE

Here is a quote from a Cardiologist Kameswari Maganti about the keto diet…

“The ketogenic diet can be effective for weight loss when used in a short time period followed by the adoption of healthier eating habits,” says Cardiologist Kameswari Maganti, MD, Northwestern Medicine Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute. “Unfortunately, it lends itself to yo-yo dieting, which increases mortality.”

DIET… When you think of the word diet what comes to mind? … Is it just the thought of losing weight or can it also mean something else?

How is Diet defined in the dictionary? Here are several definitions that I have found :

Diet | definition of diet by Medical dictionary – A prescribed course of eating and drinking in which the amount and kind of food, as well as the times at which it is to be taken, are regulated.

Definition of Diet by Merriam-Webster -food and drink regularly provided or consumed a diet of fruits and vegetables a vegetarian diet.

Definition in the Cambridge English Dictionary
an eating plan in which someone eats less food, or only particular types of food, because he or she wants to become thinner or for medical reasons:

Here is one of the more interesting definitions that I found on the word DIET and that definition is…

“Food and drink in general”…Yes the definition of diet described here is just plain ole FOOD AND DRINK IN GENERAL

Think about it…

How often do we think of our food and drink in general, the normal everyday food and drink that we consume on a regular basis… as being a diet?

Yes, my friend when you cheerfully ate that cheeseburger and drank that bottle of beer according to that dictionary definition above…

That cheeseburger and beer that you scarfed down so handily is considered a part of your diet. How did you start that diet anyway? If you don’t mind me asking…

Did you wake up one morning and say…I need to lose some weight, I think I’ll go on a cheeseburger and beer diet today? Sorry but I just had to ask…

Of course, you didn’t say that ! what a silly question to ask, but maybe after constantly consuming so many of those cheeseburgers and drinking all that beer for a number of years…

That part of your diet as nutritious as it might seem to you, could be the part of your diet that makes you feel like a dump truck dropped a load of rocks into your stomach.

Okay that’s enough of that, we already covered what that experience might be like in part 1 and besides…

I might be motivating you to eat healthier by using that horrible example, but maybe some dump truck driver who likes to eat cheeseburgers and drink beer isn’t so happy with me right now and neither is my stomach, so let’s move on:)

By the way…

If any of this silly humor is distracting you from the more important stuff, please let me know.

I’m just trying to mix a little humor into an otherwise boring and unpleasant subject for so many people…

Maybe it might help to relax some of your fears or concerns a little and give you something to smile about:) Who knows, maybe it might help you eat a little better.

If you are not where you want to be or need to be in life don’t despair things can get better for you if you don’t give up, and I certainly hope they do.

Don’t worry the more important serious stuff is coming up so smile while you can, and let us continue on…

According to one dictionary definition… The Definition of DIET by Oxford Dictionary on Lexico.com . A diet is “The kinds of food that a person, animal, or community habitually eats”

And so, when we habitually consume the same foods over and over again, no matter what kind of foods they are…

According to the Oxford dictionary, that habitual food consumption is considered to be a diet?

It might be a bad diet or maybe even the wrong diet for you personally but yes according to that Oxford dictionary definition, it is still considered to be a diet.

Now I know that the oxford dictionary’s diet definition above mentions animals and assumes that they have a diet, but please let’s be reasonable…

Mentioning animals in that diet definition above does not justify you eating like one or give you permission to put your pets to shame because you are eating worst then they do.

For instance…

Eating your dinner by scooping and licking it off your plate, and then trying to inhale it because in your opinion… it just takes entirely way too much time to chew, does not look cool or pretty.

In fact it could get very ugly and messy real fast, and don’t forget, a sour stomach from not chewing properly is not your best friend…

So don’t be surprised if someone tries to gently smack you on your nose with a newspaper to get your attention and stop your lips from violently smacking against each other like cymbals in a marching band…

Besides all of that, you might be setting a poor example for your pet or someone else’s pet.

I would not be surprised at all if your dog or cat were so embarrassed that they refuse to go out with you to dinner after watching you eat like that, especially if… Food starts flying out of your mouth like debris flying out the mouth of a wood chipper and everyone around you keeps getting assaulted by the food escaping from your mouth.

How annoying would it be if you try licking someone else’s plate after you are done licking yours?

If your dog starts barking in disgust then you have probably gone a little too far.

dog 48461 640
I’m totally disgusted and embarrassed right now!

So, if you insist on eating like an animal make sure that you do it in private where no one can see you, and try to muzzle yourself when you’re out in public…

Now I’m sure that no one really eats like that, so let’s move on:)

Just a little supplemental information…

Some of us enjoy our meals so much that we tend to make a little noise while we are eating.

Sometimes it’s because we are in such a hurry to get our food from point A to point B, basically from our plates to our belly ASAP that we have to remember to pause from time to time just to let air pass through so that we can breathe.

Yes, just like a diver on a deep-sea mission you dive deep into that dish knowing that at some point sooner or later you will have to stop and come up for air.

Is this behavior harmful? … Scientifically speaking, I have absolutely no idea but it probably is.

( I’m sure some of the experts reading this will have something to say about this )

However if it doesn’t harm you physically personally it might harm your relationship with the people around you. So how do you know when you are making too much noise when you are eating? (Here is a little hint)

You are probably making a little too much noise when you are eating if…

Someone in another room tells you to turn off the vacuum cleaner because they can’t hear the TV and the loud noise is interfering with the reception then maybe you need to chew a little more quietly.

Box over head
Who me? I’m not ashamed of the way I eat
I only have this box on my head to keep the
sun out of my eyes!

I could keep going on with this stuff, but I think you get my point, and I don’t think you want to hear any more of this nonsense, it’s silly and ridiculous…

Besides, I don’t think mentioning the loud noise of a garbage disposal or lawn mower makes any sense here, it’s just too much of an exaggeration:)

Does anyone really sound that bad when they are eating?

This is what you should be saying right about now anyway…Okay I got it, now I can check that off my list of things never to do can we please move on now? That’s what I would be saying if I were you… Now let’s move on to some of the more serious important stuff.

So, what does this information about the keto diet and food choices mean for you?

It could mean that not all diets that are labeled as weight loss diets can or will help everyone who are on these diets lose weight, this includes the keto diet.

It could also mean that we really need to consider how the food that we habitually consume as a regular part of our daily diet affects not just our weight but also our health, here’s why? …

This is another quote from the article: The pros and cons of the keto diet:

“Because the keto diet is so restricted, you’re not receiving the nutrients — vitamins, minerals, fibers — that you get from fresh fruits, legumes, vegetables and whole grains,” says Dr. Ring.

Due to these deficiencies, people also report feeling foggy and tired. These symptoms have been dubbed “the keto flu.” Constipation is also common on the keto diet due to the lack of fiber.

Another reason why we should seriously consider how the foods that we consume regularly can affect us personally is because…

What might work for one person does not necessarily work for everyone, and everything that we consume is not always good for us, no matter how much it is hyped and no matter who a diet might be working for, even if it is working fine for someone you admire and respect.

If the keto diet works for your neighbor down the street, that does not necessarily mean it will work for you and if your neighbor Brick can consume ridiculous amounts of your favorite spicy foods and he seems not to be negatively affected by it…

Guess what? … you’re not Brick!

Even if your name happens to be Brick, you’re not the same Brick that can consume ridiculous amounts of your favorite spicy foods and not be negatively affected by it,

You’re the other Brick the one that has a dump truck unloading rocks down his mouth into his stomach because he refuses to listen to his body and won’t stop eating all that tasty spicy exotic food:)

Don’t mind me I’m just trying to lighten this subject up a little. It is partly a diet and weight loss subject after all, so we want this subject to lose some weight…

We don’t want this report to be too heavy, weighing it down with a lot of boring medical terminology… Let’s think weight loss here! stay focused, concentrate.

let’s move on…

When you hear any of these glowing reports and testimonials of weight loss success about some super diet or any diet for that matter…

That does not automatically mean that you and your individual body type will get the exact same results from that diet as someone else.

So, prepare yourself and try to avoid getting your expectations a little too high before you start on any diet and before you actually see any positive results from that diet.

Try to have a good healthy alternative food plan, just in case your diet is not working for you.

Again, whatever diet that you choose to follow should be your decision based on your doctor’s recommendation, your own personal research and how your body reacts to certain foods.

So be determined to choose the very best nutritional diet that you can find.
